The Laugh For Life Centre

Yesterday I did something else a little daring.

I had seen a commercial for the Aviva Community Fund grant, which supports ideas that help communities in a positive way.

I thought, ‘hey I can do that!’ so I went to their web-site and submitted my idea.

What is my idea you ask?

The Laugh For Life Centre.

A place where people can come to learn how to laugh more, to laugh for no reason at all, to improve their outlook on life and uplift their spirit.

You can read my full proposal at:

http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf8151

and while you’re there, if you think this might be a worthy cause, please vote for it.  The voting ends Nov. 5th, so please vote sooner rather than later.

Aviva will choose those with the most votes to go on to the finals and ideally be picked as the ones they will fund.

I think this is a great opportunity to make a difference in our community, to make it a happier and healthier place.

For those of you who may not have been following me way back at the beginning of this year, let me remind you of some of the reasons why happiness and laughter is good for people:

I included these links in my proposal along with the original external links to show just how powerful laughter can be as a means by which to improve health and well-being.

This is something I believe in 110% and I am willing to stick my neck out and see if it could really be possible to make this happen.  Even without the grant it seems like a great idea to work towards, it will just take me longer to get there.

Honestly, I’m almost more afraid of getting the grant than not!  I have made the leap and if it does happen, that means I’ll have a lot of work and responsibility on my hands to manage these funds wisely and see this through.

But again, it was worth it, whether I do get it or not, it felt good to take that risk of putting my ideas out there and seeing what might come of it.

If you want to learn how to start making some daring or “risky” changes in your life, well I am going to put putting on my Defying Gravity seminar on November 23rd, which is all about building your confidence and overcoming fear so you can take those risks and live a life that is not chained down.

I hope to see you there.  There is a limit of 20 seats so book yours now.  Did I mention it’s FREE?

Until the next time, keep laughing and (shameless promotion) voting for my idea!
