Laugh Life Day 44

To quote William Butler Yeats – things fall apart.

Two days ago my wife and I thought it would be a fun idea of valentines day to go see a movie.  Apparently that’s that the rest of the city and their dates also thought would be a good idea, there was a line-up out the door as we drove by so we decided we would just come back another day.

Yesterday was a holiday so we thought, perhaps a matinee would work.  We drove to the theatre, encountered a road block on the way there which detoured us onto a street which would not get us into the theatre, so we had to park on the street and walk the rest of the way.  When we got there, there was no line outside but inside was so packed there might as well have been.  We gave it up as a lost cause and walked all the way back to our car in the frigid weather.

Then last night at the rehearsal for my show I had only two of my actors show up and we really couldn’t do anything.

All of these things I was able to shrug off and laugh at.  Ultimately these things are not that important.

Yet there are some people who would take that series of events so seriously, end up so upset and believing that the world is out to get them.

We just have to accept that sometimes things don’t go our way (sometimes NOTHING goes our way at all).  This is just a PART of life and not the whole so don’t make it everything.

If you can laugh when things don’t go your way, you are well on your way to having much more fun in your life.

As I have said before: have no expectations about an event or situation, that way it cannot “go wrong” it will only be what it is, and if it is good, then celebrate.
