The Power of Self Suggestion – More

So I know it is still early days, but Whoa!

After my last posts on this topic, I started a few new “mantras” if you will.

The first was to re-start with the “Do It Now”, the second was a new one “I’m so happy!”

And suddenly I am so much more productive!

Today has been about ten times as productive as any day in the past two weeks!

I know that increased happiness leads to increased producitvity, but until today I had never really FELT what it feels like so absolutely!

Between my “Do It Now” and “I’m so happy” I am just roaring through stuff today AND I feel amazing doing it.

I’ve started to say the “I’m so happy” right after my rehearsals for Frankenstein (especially the more angry/angsty ones) and it works wonders for making me feel better right away by the time I get home.

Now I haven’t been as consistent with these as I would like, it’s a trade off between doing these in the shower in the morning or reviewing my lines from the show, I think I’ll switch to doing these consistently in the morning and finding another time to review the lines.

So just in case you were wondering if the whole self-suggestion thing works in a positive direction, I can assure you it does.  All you need to do is find a phrase that works for you (that you believe in – or really want to believe in) and repeat it at least 50 times (so short phrases work best) every day.

I’m finding I’m repeating these it in all my “empty” time now.  In the car driving, waiting for the tea to boil, walking places, etc.  You don’t have to JUST do it in the morning, the more you do it, the more (and the sooner) it will affect you.

I just wanted to send along this update, because I have felt so amazing today.
