Laugh Life Day 74

After yesterday’s post on motivation I got to thinking, and I think I may have been slightly wrong on one point.

In order to find motivation when you are already happy you may not need to have “your life purpose” which is a pretty big thing and may take some time for people to discover.  What you do need is “a purpose”, something that is a strong internal, intrinsic motivator even if it is not “the purpose” in your life.

For example:

My life purpose is the make the world a happier place.

BUT

Perhaps right now I have “a purpose” of wanting to be a good husband to my wife.

These two may be slightly related (if my wife is happy the world is a happier place), but they are not really the same thing and depending on where you are in your life there may be “a purpose” which is more significant or meaningful to you than your “life purpose”.

So I retract my comment from yesterday a simply substitute that motivation will come when you have a purpose – something significant, that is internally, intrinsically important to you.

Keep laughing.
