Yesterday I gave myself a challenge.
I want to help 1,000,000 people laugh by March 1st 2018. Why I chose that particular year is not important, but the goal is.
I can’t remember if I have talked before about finding your purpose and living with passion, which is one of the two things I believe lead to a fulfilled life (the other being lots of laughter), but let me explain a little how this works.
More and more of late, I am becoming aware that helping people to laugh (particularly for no reason, but also through humour if needed) is really what I am meant to do. Let me clarify, I have known for some time that my purpose is the make the world a happier place, but I had thought before that I would do this through regular life coaching and speaking – helping people achieve their dreams. I may still do all of that, but what has become very clear recently is that I have the MOST passion for helping people laugh.
How do I know I have the most passion? Because all of those other elements do not have the same “drive” for me as laughter does. By drive I mean: the more I think about working with people on laughter the more I can’t stop thinking about helping people with laughter and feel I need to do something about it NOW!
I have known for some time what it is to “know your purpose”, and now I have a greater understanding of what it means to “live with passion”.
That is why I have set myself this rather ambitious goal (by the way 1,000,000 people in eight years is roughly 343 people a day). Honestly I have no idea whether it is possible to achieve this or not, but I don’t care. It inspires me and I am going to do everything in my power to achieve this.
So here is my request:
If I have helped you laugh somewhere along the line in this blog, please let me know with a comment so I can keep a tally and see how I do.
I’ve got 2922 days to go and 1,000,000 people to help. Wish me luck.
