So, in following with yesterdays post, I set up a new page called Laughter Challenge (under the Laugh Life heading), on which I can track my progress.
The more I think about it, with my plays, my speeches and seminars, an the nearly unlimited audience I can reach with my website, the more I think this might just be doable. Perhaps the time-line I’ve given myself is too short, but that’s the challenge part, the part that gets me inspired and driven to do something now.
Someone said to me last week that if you can laugh for no reason you can do anything for no reason. They were referring to the fact that most people wait for something humourous to happen before they laugh, and wait for something external to motivate them before they take action toward their goals and dreams. BUT if you don’t need a reason to laugh, maybe you don’t need any motivation to take action.
Maybe, just maybe, all of that comes from within.
If I can may myself laugh on cue, then I can make myself act on cue.
Something just occurred to me. It’s not that I am laughing for no reason, it’s that I am laughing for no EXTERNAL reason. I have lots of internal reasons to laugh: I want to feel good, I want to be healthier, I want to have less stress, and so on. In fact I have lots of reasons, but they are all within me.
And taking action toward your goals is the same, something outside of you can “inspire” you and you might take some action (just like humour inspires laughter), but without a bunch of really good internal reasons the action tapers off and we are left waiting.
Well I say STOP WAITING!
Stop waiting to laugh and stop waiting to act. The more you wait, the more you are just stuck, stopped, not going anywhere.
I think this is so profound I think I’m going to make it my new mission in my coaching. On top of helping people laugh (which I think is a part of this anyway) I am going to be helping people get from “waiting for” to “having more”.
So if you feel like you’ve been waiting, or stuck for too long, and want to get on with your life, drop me a line.
I’ve found my passion and I’m using it to help you find yours.
