Yesterday did not start off well (as perhaps you could tell by my post).
As it is with most “bad days” one thing just kept piling on to another to provide even more frustration and general upsettedness (yes I know that’s not a word).
Throughout the day I tried some deep breathing and even a little laughing to get me back on track, but outside vents seemed determined to upset me, and apparently I was not determined enough to be happy to counter act them. Again with most “bad days” after a while you just want to be upset.
But, then I had a client yesterday afternoon who is an amazing guy and great to talk to, and just being with him seemed to turn me around. I may have wanted (in some small part) to be upset, but after meeting with this guy, i knew I had a choice, stay upset or use this to get happy again.
So I got happy, and had a great end of the day.
You always have a choice in how you want to feel. Yes events may conspire against you and make it seem like you should be upset, and if you want to be upset for a while, that is your choice. But if you encounter a ray of sunshine it is also your choice whether you want to bask in that ray or remain under a dark cloud.
I believe that the more you practice laughter and happiness, the more you will want to be in the sunshine and choose to be happy.
Keep laughing.
