A Little Push

Again my apologies for not having posted in a bit, I was working on some other areas of my website behind the scenes and have only now worked things out.

Anyway, I may have mentioned some time in one of my previous posts that I believe everyone can benefit from having a coach, which is why even I as a coach have my own coach.

And you say: “wait a minute, can’t you just … sort of … coach yourself?”

Well in some ways I can.  I’ve developed a lot of habits and built up my own awareness to the point that I can do a lot for myself, but having an outside perspective always helps.

True, sometimes you can get this from friends, if they are really good friends and willing to tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth, however most of the time friends gloss things over and are not always the best at letting us know what we could be doing better.

That’s where coaches come in.

And honestly, I’ve been without a coach for a while (looking for a good fit – as a coach I can be a difficult client) but I recently found one, and WOW!

I have been talking in my last few posts about some ways in which I’ve been stretching myself and taking some risks.  Well within two sessions I’ve discovered that there is a whole area I’ve been glossing over myself which would be a great area for me to “grow” into and challenge myself.

Already my awareness is building around this and I’m actually feeling a little bit of nerves thinking about doing some of the things my coach asked, which (if I were my coach) is exactly where I’d want me to be.

Now I know I can eliminate this fear and do what I need to, but I just wanted to share with you the power and wonder that having a coach can bring out in you.

I am ready to move forward and grow and take on this new challenge, but I would have never even thought to head in this direction (well perhaps I would have come to this conclusion in time) without the assistance of my coach.

So thank you coach and my challenge to any who read this is give coaching a try.  It doesn’t have to be with me – there are lots of coaches out there.  I recommend looking here:   Find A Coach.  This will give you a listing of coaches trained through the Coaches Training Institute, which is where I got my training and is one of the most rigorous programs out there.  You don’t even have to pay for the session (just remember to check of the box asking for coaches who offer free sample sessions).

Finally remember that not all coach-client match ups are going to work and you may need to try a few to get one who really works well with you.

What have you got to lose?  It’s free to try (for some) and you might just get some really great forward movement in your life.

So for now, keep laughing and give coaching a try.
