Yesterday (in my other job as a career counselor), I got to spend an hour reading a comic book.
Now as you have probably come to know about me through this blog, I love life’s little absurdities, and this was definitely a “unique” moment.
I was actually doing research, honestly.
The comic was called: “The Adventures of Johnny Bunko” (http://www.danpink.com/johnny-bunko) and it is a guide to help people find their ideal career. Yet it is done in the “Manga” style of Japanese comic books.
A fun and insightful read, definitely. I have always been a fan of getting a point across through story as opposed to the much drier version of most self-help types of books. The fact that this was a comic book was even more intriguing and I had to take a look.
It’s a quick read, it only took me about 40 minutes, but as I said there is some quality information in there which is worth mulling over and really thinking about.
It definitely made me laugh that I could go home and tell my wife: “I read a comic book at work today”.
