Sometimes you just need to put yourself into a situation where you know there will be some laughs.
Last night I finished a very long day of work, which had had very few laughs in it and decided I was going to sit and watch a couple of my favourite shows (recorded from Monday night).
So I watched Heroes and Castle. Now Heroes is actually usually more on the serious/depressing side of things but I caught a break last night with a fun episode that had me laughing out loud several times.
Castle I can almost always count on for a chuckle or two and last night’s was no different. So by the time I went to bed I was feeling lighter and much better about my day.
One thing I have learned is that you can have a great day for most of the day, but one little thing that gets you all upset right at the end of the day can ruin it all. Conversely, you can have a not so great day for most of the day, then do something that makes you laugh, and all of a sudden it doesn’t seem so bad.
It’s all about how you feel right now. Your emotions right now are colouring how you read this post and what you think of your day, perhaps even your life in general.
Which, come to think of it is why I am doing this entire Laugh Life Project. The more I can help others feel happier and lighter more often, the better they will feel about their lives in general and feel like their lives are actually quite good and fulfilling. It also helps me do the same thing, by starting my day remembering the good stuff from the last day, I feel better about today and have a better outlook on today.
Now I just have to keep this outlook all day. That, of course, is the real challenge.
So until tomorrow here’s some alliteration for you: “a little laughter lightens loaded lives” ~ me
