Laugh Life Day 77

Can’t talk for long today.  I’ve just escaped an all day rehearsal for my show for a few minutes to make sure I get my post in.

I want to talk today about the art of distraction.

Too often when we are feeling down, we actually tend to dwell on the fact that we are down.  One of the best ways to  start feeling better again is to distract yourself from musing on misery and do something you know you like doing.

For me, I have a couple video games that I don’t play a lot, but if I’ve had a bad day and don’t want to think about it any more, they provide a good escape.  AND chances are, once I’m done playing, I feel better and have forgotten most of what was making me feel down to begin with.

It’s a little trick, and it may not work for everyone, but it’s something you can try.
